Safety & Emergency Protocols

At Governor Mifflin School District, the safety of our students and staff is our highest priority. To ensure a coordinated and effective response to any incident, we utilize the Standard Response Protocol (SRP) and the Standard Reunification Method (SRM) developed by the I Love You Guys Foundation.

Our staff and students undergo regular training in these protocols so that everyone knows exactly how to act in an emergency.

Key Information for Parents

In the event of an emergency, your cooperation is vital to the success of our first responders and the safety of our students. We ask that you follow these two critical guidelines:

  1. Stay Informed: Monitor official communications from the district (email, text, and website) for real-time updates and specific instructions.

  2. Maintain Distance: Please do not rush to the school. Crowding the campus can block emergency vehicles and interfere with critical operations. We will provide a designated location if a reunification is necessary.

Resources & Guides

Understanding these terms ahead of time helps keep our community calm and prepared. Please review the following resources:

  • Standard Response Protocol (SRP): Learn the five specific actions (Hold, Secure, Lockdown, Evacuate, Shelter) used during an incident.

  • Standard Reunification Method (SRM): Understand the process for picking up your child safely after an event
