2026 Homecoming Schedule of Events:

POSTPONED TO SUNDAY, OCTOBER 11, 2026; 5:30-8:00 PM: Homecoming Parade, After Party, and GMEF Fill the Truck

Join us for an evening of family fun to celebrate Homecoming Week! Our parade will kick off at
5:30 PM from the Governor Mifflin Middle School Parking Lot. After, we invite our school
community to join us in the GMHS Courtyard for some music-themed family fun, food trucks, and
an opportunity to connect as a community! GMEF will also be collecting donated items for their
“Fill the Truck” initiative with Community Aid on-site!

Wednesday, October 7, 2026; 6:00-7:30 PM: Literacy Under the Lights

This awesome FREE event for grades K-6 brings community members together for story time and literacy activities on the Multipurpose Field. Bring a blanket or a chair and get ready for an awesome night!

Friday, October 9, 2026; Starting at 7:00 PM: GMHS Football v. Elizabethtown

Come on out to cheer on our Mustangs as they take on Elizabethtown! We’ll be introducing our GMHS Homecoming Court during halftime* and our GMMS musicians will be joining the GMHS band for an especially spirited performance!

*PLEASE NOTE: Our Homecoming Royalty WINNERS will be announced and crowned on Saturday, October 10, 2026 at the GMHS Homecoming Dance.

Spirit Days

Our families asked and we listened-- this year, our themes are the same across all schools in the district for Homecoming... no more keeping track of crazy hair day at one school and gold and maroon day at another!

Our theme for our 2026 Homecoming is Off The Record: Genres of Music, One Hit Wonders, and the Sounds that Define a Generation. Daily themes are as follows:

• Monday, 10/5: Fan Club Day: Today is all about repping your favorite musician! Show up to school in
  some merch (or dress up as your idol, if you’re really dedicated!) to show us who is dominating your playlist!

• Tuesday, 10/6: Country Music Day: From Shania to Shaboozey, Tuesday is all about those down-home tunes! Put on your flannel and cowboy hat and dress your country-western best!

• Wednesday, 10/7: Disney Day: On Wednesday, we’ve got the soundtrack to your childhood on repeat! Wear something Disney inspired, dress up as your favorite Disney character, and embrace the childlike wonder of Disney!

• Thursday, 10/8: Y2K Day: From Britney to boy bands and every teen idol in-between, we’re embracing
  the iconic look of Y2K! Whether you’re going for grunge or bubblegum pop, you’re sure to fit in in this “blast from the past” day!

• Friday, 10/9: We’ve got to go into our Homecoming Game repping Maroon and Gold! Wear gold, maroon, or Mifflin gear to school and be sure to join us for our GMHS football game that night!
