Operations, Maintenance, & Facilities
To ensure a safe and enhanced learning environment, the Governor Mifflin School District maintains its buildings and grounds to the highest standards. This includes the interior of all district buildings and the campus grounds (parking lots, sidewalks, roadways, athletic fields, etc.). The 3 school campuses total 108 acres consisting of campus grounds, athletic fields, play and learning areas, parking areas, and roadways. Facilities include seven school buildings and 2 office buildings totaling 850,000 square feet of indoor space. The Operations Department consists of over 50 employees including a director, custodial and maintenance supervisors, maintenance and grounds staff, and custodial staff.
The maintenance department services all district equipment and systems from electrical to plumbing as well as refrigeration equipment. The department also performs preventative maintenance services for a variety of systems including water and septic systems, vehicle maintenance, and the HVAC equipment. The maintenance department is also responsible for mowing, lining, fertilizing, watering, and mulching the 108 acre campus including the athletic fields. The custodial department maintains a clean, safe, and healthy school environment as well as managing events at our school buildings.
The buildings and fields are available for use by the outside public under district-set policies and procedures.
