About Our Portrait of a Graduate

At Governor Mifflin School District, we are committed to fostering an educational environment where each student is empowered to find their passion, purpose, and path. While the paths our students pursue may vary greatly, we strive to ensure that each student leaves our halls college, career, and future ready.

The Portrait of a Graduate illustrates the skills and qualities that we believe are crucial for a student to be "Future Ready" and contribute meaningfully to their local and global communities. The attributes chosen include:

  • Community-Centered: Committed, Engaged, Inclusive, Influential, Informed, and Intentional
  • Empowered Leader: Adaptable, Collaborative, Communicative, Confident, Critical Thinker, and Responsible
  • Future Ready: Academically Literate, Culturally Literate, Digitally Literate, Financially Literate, Socially-Emotionally Literate, and Wellness Literate
  • Lifelong Learner: Curious, Interconnected, Innovative, Reflective, Resilient, and Resourceful

These attributes were identified through community collaborations, research into the future career landscape, and conversations with staff and students.

The Portrait of a Graduate informs decisions made in regard to curriculum, student life, school culture, and all other aspects that shape the school experience and, in turn, the student.
