A Message Regarding GMACC Community Usage

Attention Governor Mifflin School District Community,

We wanted to take the time to address some questions that we have received regarding the use of the Governor Mifflin Athletic Community Center (GMACC) by community members. 

As you may be aware, the GMACC facility officially opened on Saturday, December 2, 2023. This date, in contrast to our initially anticipated August opening date, fell in the midst of the school year, close to winter break, and at the height of our winter sports season. These factors, along with ongoing construction within the facility, have limited us from opening our doors for public use. While this is understandably disappointing, we assure you that this is temporary and that it is our full intention to allow our community to utilize the space to gather and support their physical wellbeing.

As we adjust to using our facility, it is being utilized for physical education classes, school sports games and practices, and scheduled community events only. We are currently evaluating usage and in the process of creating a schedule which is suitable for our staff, students, and community alike. We will communicate this schedule once it is complete and our facility is ready for public use.
