Back-To-School Message from Dr. Lisa Hess, Superintendent

Good Afternoon, Governor Mifflin Families!

We are thrilled to share that the 2024-2025 school year has begun with great enthusiasm and energy across our district! From our youngest Pre-K students at Cumru to our seniors at the High School, it's clear that the joy of returning to school is palpable. Our mission—educating, inspiring, and empowering every student, every day—is at the heart of everything we do, supported by our vision of helping each student pursue their passion, purpose, and path.

The mission and vision are not just statements; they are reflected in the daily efforts of our entire school community. Our custodial and operations staff work diligently to maintain a safe and clean environment. Our food service team is committed to providing nutritious meals that help our students thrive. Our paraprofessionals offer vital support in the classroom, while our counselors and social workers provide essential guidance. Our teachers are dedicated to creating innovative and engaging lessons. It’s the combined efforts of all these individuals, along with your support at home, that empower our students to excel.

We are constantly creating opportunities to enhance our students’ educational experiences. At last night’s Superintendent’s Starting Line presentation, I highlighted many of the exciting opportunities available this year, as well as new initiatives. Mr. Jeff Reichart, our new Director of Safe Schools and School Culture, also provided an important presentation on vaping and general safety procedures. I encourage all families to review these presentations to better understand our district’s mission, vision, goals, and our proactive approach to addressing vaping in schools.
