Hello Governor Mifflin High School Parents/Guardians:

I certainly hope each of you are enjoying these last few weeks of summer. The high school administrators, faculty and support staff have been busy preparing for the start of the 2024-25 school year and are looking forward to the first day of school which is scheduled for Monday, August 19, 2024, 7:35 a.m.-2:25 p.m.

This year, we welcome a new member to the high school’s administration team: Mr. Maxwell Terrell, Associate Principal for students in grades 9 and 11. Mr. Terrell has strong leadership skills and is looking forward to working with and getting to know each of our students and families. Mr. T.J. Miller will, once again, be our Associate Principal for students in grades 10 and 12.

The 2024-25 Skyward Back-to-School Update will open on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. Your child’s schedule and transportation needs (if applicable) will be viewable at this time. Upon login, you will be prompted to review and complete important and mandatory forms that must be submitted online prior to the first day of school on Monday, August 19, 2024. These forms will require you to update and/or verify student information, emergency contacts, food service plans and student medical information. You will also be asked to review district policies. Please note: Parents/guardians can update Skylert information any time by logging into their Skyward account. You do not have to call the high school office if you wish to add a new phone number or need to update a phone number or email address. All address changes must be submitted, in-person, to the Education Center located at Lancaster Avenue and Waverly Street. You must provide two proofs of residency such as: deed, lease or utility bill.

On the first day of school, grade 9 students will report directly to the auditorium at 7:35 a.m. for a class meeting. Students in grades 10, 11 and 12, will report directly to block 1. Throughout the school year, the high school opens no earlier than 7:10 a.m., and students must report to block 1 (odd day) or block 2 (even day) by 7:35 a.m. Students who arrive early will report to the cafeteria. Please do not drop your child off before 7:10 a.m., as we do not want them waiting for long periods of time to enter the building.

Breakfast and lunch will be served on the first day of school. For the 2024-2025 school year, all students are eligible for and will receive free breakfast and lunch. We will continue to operate under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). Funds will only be deducted from student accounts for ala carte purchases.

NOTE: BCTC information will be sent in a separate Skylert message in the near future. Please look for this email as it will contain important information regarding school calendars and transportation.
