Regarding Incident at Wilson SD

Attention GMSD Community,

We are aware that there was a reported incident at Wilson School District this morning involving a shooting. We have conferred with the Wilson School District and have confirmed that there was no shooting in the district this morning.

At this time, we want to make our community aware of the uptick in “swatting” incidents in surrounding counties. Swatting is a form of prank in which individuals contact local police departments to report a shooting or other violent incident which did not occur in order to generate a police response. We want to remind our community that we take any and all threats seriously and that we will remain vigilant and carefully evaluate any incidents reported to our school.
