Morning Swimming and Aqua Walking

Morning swim sessions with designated slow, medium, and fast lanes. All lanes are circle swim only. Space is also available for aqua walking.

Equipment: Kickboards, pull buoys, and noodles available upon request
Registration: Register at any morning swim. Please use rear pool door for morning swim access.
 
Dates: October 6, 2025 – May 14, 2026
Days & Time: Monday–Thursday | 7:00–8:30 AM

Fees
Registration Card: Adults & Seniors – $20
Daily Fees (with registration):

• Adult: $2
• Senior Citizen: Free

Adult Guest (no registration): $5

Swim Lessons
All swim lessons follow the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program, designed to build water safety and swimming skills through progressive instruction in a positive learning environment.

Registration Information

• Registration is online only via Google Form
•  Registration links will be posted as announcements on the Governor Mifflin Aquatic webpage
• Registration is first come, first served
• If a time is no longer listed, the class is full
• Payment is due at the first class
• Accepted payment methods: Cash, Check, or Money Order
  • Checks/Money Orders payable to Governor Mifflin School District (GMSD)

• Spring I: Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at 12:00 PM
• Spring II: Monday, March 30, 2026 at 12:00 PM
• Spring III: Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 12:00 PM

Parents & Tots

Ages: 6 months – 5 years
Height Requirement: Under 48 inches
Parent participation required in the water

Children progress at their own pace under qualified instructors.

Beginner Swim Lessons
Learn to Swim Levels 2 & 3
Fees (per session)

• Resident: $70
• Non-Resident: $80

Level Descriptions

• Level 2 – Fundamental Aquatic Skills
  • No prerequisites. Focuses on floating, recovery to vertical position, and introductory arm and leg movements.
     
• Level 3 – Stroke Development
  • Requires Level 2 completion or skill demonstration. Introduces coordinated front crawl, elementary backstroke, survival float, and headfirst entries.

Advanced Swim Lessons
Learn to Swim Levels 4,5,& 6
All classes are taught by a certified Water Safety Instructor.

Fees (per session)

• Resident: $70
• Non-Resident: $80

Levels Offered

• Level 4 – Stroke Improvement (must have passed Level 3)
• Level 5 – Stroke Refinement (must have passed Level 4)
• Level 6 – Fitness Swimmer (must have passed Level 5)
• Fundamentals of Diving (must have passed Level 5)
  *Red Cross completion cards must be shown at registration.

Splashball

Splashball is an introduction to water polo for students in 1st–4th grade. Sessions take place in the shallow end of the GMIS pool to create a safe, fun learning environment. No prior water polo experience required. The shallow end of the pool ranges from 3ft to 4ft deep.
