Diploma, Cap and Gown, Commencement, and Senior Portraits for Class of 2024-2025

Dear Parent/Guardian of a GMHS Senior Student:

The Class of 2025 Commencement ceremony is tentatively scheduled to be held at the Santander Arena in Reading on Friday, May 23, 2025 beginning at 6:00 p.m. 

As a parent/guardian of a senior student in the Governor Mifflin School District, there are a few details that are required of you and your senior as we prepare for this very special event. Please thoroughly review the following procedures: 

While reading this letter, please plan to complete the following items before the noted deadlines:

  1. Complete the Diploma form - due Tuesday, October 1, 2024

  2. Order a cap, gown & tassel for commencement - due Tuesday, October 1, 2024

  3. Review information pertaining to senior photos


Diploma Ordering: 

Please review and complete the GMHS 2025 Diploma Form by Tuesday, October 1, 2024. This Google form must be completed and submitted whether or not your son or daughter decides to participate in the Commencement ceremony. If the diploma form is not completed and submitted by Tuesday, October 1, the name the school district has on file for your child will be used on his or her diploma. If your son or daughter is an “off-campus” student (GM Gold or off-campus placement), please indicate his or her interest in participating in the Commencement ceremony on the GMHS 2025 Diploma Form. We kindly request one GMHS 2025 Diploma Form submission per student, preferably by a parent/guardian.


Cap & Gown Ordering/ Commencement Information:

Graduating seniors are required to wear a cap and gown if they are planning to walk at Commencement 2025. A student may borrow a cap and gown of a student who graduated from GMHS in 2019 through 2024 only. If this is your intention, and you have someone to borrow from, please notify GMHS Co-graduation Coordinator, Emma Blair, at Emma.Blair@gmsd.org by Tuesday, October 1, 2024. Please note, even though your child may be borrowing a cap and gown, he/she will be required to place an order for a “2025” tassel only.

  • Please take a few minutes to review Ms. Blair’s cap and gown ordering video, Student Services’ package options video and Student Services’ digital brochure

  • HOW TO ORDER: All GMHS graduation products, including the cap and gown and/or 2025 tassel orders, must be placed online at sscgradstore.com (enter Governor Mifflin High School) or by calling Student Services Company at 610-539-1330. All orders, including the cap and gown and/or 2025 tassel, must be ordered by 

Tuesday, October 1, 2024. A late fee of $5 will be incurred if your order is received after this date.

  • In order to meet our printing deadline for personalized graduation stationery, the date of Commencement will be written as “May 2025.” The GMSD School Board will approve the final date of Commencement in the spring of 2025. Stationery orders, as well as, orders for all other graduation products are due by Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Senior Portraits:

In order to create a uniform appearance in the senior section of the 2025 yearbook, Archive, all yearbook senior portraits must be taken by Cady Photography at either the studio location in Horsham, PA or at one of their photography events at Governor Mifflin. The next Senior Portrait Day is scheduled to take place during the school day and after school in the GMHS main gym on Thursday, October 17, 2024. All senior portraits that are published in the yearbook will be free of charge. Any additional backgrounds, outfit changes, cap & gown pictures, props, and more can be done at the school or at the studio for small upgrades. If your child has not had their senior yearbook photo taken, please schedule their appointment here: Cady Senior Portraits. Please notify the company using the customer service page if you are unable to keep your appointment. All appointments must occur before Monday, November 18, 2024.

  • Enter your school, first name, and last name to log in

  • Select a package (scroll all the way down for the free yearbook picture, and all packages go up in price from the bottom to the top of the page)

  • Select your date and time

Attire Suggestions:

  • Black suit or dress shirt with collar, tie, sports coat and slacks

  • Black skirt, dress or slacks with coordinated top

  • If you do not own formal black attire, the company will have a formal outfit readily available to be draped over any student that looks just as formal and professional as your own attire.
