About GMSD's new relationship with the Cook Center for Human Connection.

GMSD has established a relationship with the Cook Center for Human Connection to partner with parents and the community.  The mission of the Cook Center is to bring together the best organizations, programs and products to prevent suicide, provide parent guidance and  support, and enhance human connections vital for people to thrive. The foundation’s current focus is on supporting children, families, and schools in eradicating suicide, as well as offering resources and support for individuals and their caregivers. Through our relationship with the Cook Center the GMSD community will have access to resources at which is an online site that provides trusted and specialized courses, professional support, and a safe community for parents to learn how to support their children across numerous topics. Additionally parents will have access to unlimited family coaching with 24/7text capability and will be able to participate in parent guidance forums on specific topics that will begin in the late fall.

  • To access free resources you can go to your child’s school website and click on logo/medallion.
  • To access the unlimited coaching once at, select Parent Coaching, then select Register for Coaching.

All parents are also invited to attend a “wellness parent forum” event on September 28 at 8PM.  Information to register can be found HERE.  This event will allow parents from across the country to ask questions and be introduced to the free resources.  Subsequent events, specific to the Governor Mifflin Community will be announced once they are scheduled, but will include topics such as Device Addiction, Social Media – How to protect our Children, and Your Child’s Anxiety

We are excited to make these resources and parent forums available to our District Community.  Should you have any questions please reach out to Dave Argentati, Director of Student Services, at
