Dear Governor Mifflin School District families,

Throughout our 2021-2022 school year, we received feedback from our district families which indicated that traditional snow days are preferred over flexible instruction days. Traditional snow days will be our first consideration for our 2022-2023 school year, however we would like to make it clear that we are not eliminating flexible instruction days as an option. In the event that this winter brings several days of inclement weather, or a weather event spanning over multiple days, flexible instruction days may need to be utilized in order to keep our school year on schedule.

We ask that you understand that our decisions in regard to winter weather procedures are based on a variety of factors including the timing of the event, expected severity, and the number of weather events.  Ultimately, the safety of our students is the most important factor we consider and we will always err on the side of caution when it comes to winter weather and the transportation of our students.

As always, delays and closures will be posted to our website, social media accounts, and WFMZ. We will also communicate with families directly via email, text message, and phone using our Skylert system. To review and change your contact information for Skylert, please log in to the Skyward Family Access Portal and click the Skylert tab in the left-hand column.

Thank you,
Governor Mifflin School District
