School Parking Lots
Ensuring safety for students, staff, and visitors is a top priority at all GMSD schools. To achieve this, each school parking lot follows these general procedures:
-
Follow posted speed limits (typically 10 mph) and be cautious of pedestrians.
-
Obey all signs and school-specific rules.
-
Park in designated visitor spaces if you're visiting the school.
-
Yield to pedestrians in crosswalks and stop completely when they are present.
-
Follow directions from crossing guards, school police, and GMSD staff.
-
Display appropriate decals for ADA accessible spots.
-
No double parking allowed.
-
Unauthorized vehicles and vehicles parked inappropriately are subject to being towed at the owner's expense
-
Student vehicles parked on school grounds are subject to school district policies and regulations. If an illegal item is found in a student vehicle, that item will be presumed to be in the possession of the student who is responsible for that vehicle.
Student Driver Rules (High School Only)
Additional rules apply specifically to student drivers at the high school:
-
Obtain a student parking permit and park in the spaces designated for student parking.
-
If you don't have a permit, park on Waverly Street or Mifflin Boulevard (not in residential driveways).
-
Ignoring parking rules may lead to fines, loss of privileges, or towing (at your expense).
-
Enter your car during the day only with permission from the office.
-
Maintain the 10 mph speed limit and follow all posted signs.
-
Follow designated traffic flow patterns.
-
Be responsible for proper car use (no honking, racing engines, etc.).
-
School regulations apply to vehicles and occupants on school grounds.
-
Avoid displaying inappropriate visuals on your car.
